Billions of people won’t go extinct overnight it’ll be relatively slow—think about endangered animals that have only 20-30 animals left of their species; still with such a low count it takes years for them to finally die off.
humanity has been significantly worse off at various points in history, we have a lot of science and tech looking at these problems and a fairly high level of global cooperation it’ll probably be alright
Define "end". If you're talking about a full-on extinction apocalypse - no. Humans are far too adaptable for that. If you're talking about a major shift in the world order and what we consider the structure of society - maybe.
