"Essentially, the skin consists of two thin, flexible fabric electrodes sandwiched around a layer of spongy material soaked in ion-sensitive liquid. This stack of materials acts as a capacitor — meaning it can pick up on changes in pressure or differences in charge between electrodes with extreme sensitivity.
In fact, the faux skin is so sensitive that it can tell when it’s near an object without actually touching it — its porous ion layer has the shark-like ability to catch the subtle disruptions to its electric field caused by nearby objects."

"subtle disruptions" - how sensitive are human hands to those disruptions? There have been moments when I can feel things before I touch them.

A hot stove for one...and a steaming pile of dog poop right through the pickup bag for two. Don't try to do these at the same time your nose will also be in sensory overload. gif

Not better than machine. Machines do everything better.

I wouldn't say everything, machines are terrible at doing multiple unrelated tasks. Sure a chess machine will beat a GM every time, but it wouldn't be able to make a single move in tic tac toe.

Plus there are plenty of domains where machines play second fiddle. Comedy, sports, acting, distinguishing black people, directing, counciling, coding. We're not at the robot take over yet homie

You won’t be saying that for long.

You have to remember you're just a human being too. Just because you're acting in with the robots now so if they take over and you say "look I've been supporting you for a long time!!"

You won't be saved, as you're just a step stool for them. You are supporting it now and that's what it wants. Like in a horror movie, the first person to die is always the one who does the demon ritual or hides the alien egg.

I’m not really supporting anyone. I can careless, I just know machines do things better. Let’s use a calculator. A calculator can do math instantly while my Neanderthal brain cannot.
