Quantum computing is based on quantum principles, so it is really fucking hard to put it in layman terms. I took quantum mechanics 1 and 2. I also took many classes on electrical/computer engineering logic. I won’t even both to try to explain it. You need to understand so many different things. You need to know things beyond what most undergrad physics students know. Plus you’d ideally need a good understanding of computer engineering.

You can definitely describe quantum computers in simple terms compared to our current binary computers. OP is not asking for the physics, engineering, and detailed principles, they want a simple explanation, which pretty much every comment I have seen has described some aspect of.
