I don't believe there will be malevolent AI.

I can't exactly justify or explain my belief except for one thing:

Dogs.

I am certain that by the time an AI is advanced enough to have enough emotions to be categorized as malevolent or benevolent, it will be our 2nd best friend.

If we ever encounter hostile aliens... they might have a different view.
