Dog fights are not a thing anymore. Maned aircraft are still superior as they are not at risk of hacking or jamming unlike drones. Plus you don't have latency and you will have much more situational awareness being in the cockpit. The future of air combat is drones, but that's still a ways out. You will likely see things such as "loyal wingmen" long before there are completely unmanned righters

"Loyal wingmen" in close proximity to the manned controller should be less vulnerable to jamming, and could even use laser communications to maintain complete radio silence. The mixture of manned and unmanned aircraft is definitely the next step.
