How many people were converged around you? I’d love to photograph sites like these, but it’s become like a gathering place for masses of photographers, and it kind of loses that magic.

They’re doing a permit system this year. So there’s a lot of people but not nearly as many this year as the last several years. I was there this weekend and it was about 1/10th the crowd it was last year.

It's been this way for years. I was there two years ago and it was an incredible experience despite the crowds.

This location has gained so much traction from the last few years of being posted online that the locals don't even want to go visit Yosemite until it's over. There's literally nowhere to park all afternoon and evening because everyone and their mother is waiting around to take one of these photos. The magic is absolutely ruined. This used to be a cool thing before the whole world knew about it.

Yeah, I absolutely can’t do it. Photography for me is a solitary experience, if there are other people around, I’m not even going to get my camera out.
