I love the Superstition Mountains. I have never seen another mountain that changes the way it looks as the sun moves across it. So beautiful and mysterious with the lore to go with it.

Why is it called superstition?

There's a couple of Arizonan legends that surround it, including one called the Lost Dutchman's Mine. It's a legend that a gold reserve is somewhere in the mountains and a couple people have gotten lost in the years looking for it, among other settlers' tales. It's really a pretty mountain and the cowboy mythos adds to it.

That's not the one to fear. The one to fear is the cholla in the distance.

Why was I cursed to be born and raised East of the Mississippi, lol? The West is magic to me.

Amazing shot. One of my favorite places to get lost on the trails. The mythos surrounding the Superstitions makes it all the more immersive to wander those peaks. You certainly captured some of that superstitious mystique with this shot.
