Funfact, there are cows bathing in the lake every summer. Really nice place.

Heidi ran around there barefoot.

Was looking on google earth. Looks like those mountains rise almost 7000 ft above the lake.

It's been 27 years since we were last there. It's very noticeable how far the snow has retreated. The glaciers were much thicker as well.

I was there this summer and it’s easily one of the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen.

Didnt knew this lake, are there many tourists? When is the best time to visit?
Looks a bit similar to the Lake Praies, but cant visit anymore because there are soooo many tourists

It's a beautiful place, with the possibility to stay the night also up at the lake in a few "hotels" .. during summer it can get crowded, my wife and I have been a few times in fall and it's nice, not too many people.
Ride the lift up, walk ~20 minutes to the lake, enjoy!

That was the most crowded spot at the lake when I was there in July last year: https://imgur.com/a/u2c4Crd

I've been to Switzerland each year for 14 years. First when I got there it was still reasonably calm in the summer. But now in the summer it is packed with tourists and 'instagram models'. Cannot recommend visiting in the summer, I'd say go a bit off-season.

I've been there and swam in it twice. The water was very cold but the place is beautiful.

I was here a few summers ago, and yes, this lake really is this color. It’s absolutely stunning, and in my mind, a hidden gem of the world. There’s a path you can walk around (most?) of the lake I THINK (my mom and I went around part of it, but had already been trekking for a number of days)- and it’s just as cold as it looks to swim in, but loads of fun!
