On our first trip to YNP we were trying to avoid the most popular and crowded sites. We were walking the Fairy Falls trail and started seeing those beautiful colors off to the right of the trail and, not knowing what it was, I thought, "What the hell am I seeing?"

We fell in love with YNP and went back every year.
After a few years we started backpacking into the backcountry and I've never experienced such peace and beauty anywhere else. Scary sometimes, like when we heard snuffling around our tent at night, but we had such wonderful times there.
It is truly a treasure.
