I remember when I was a kid they didn’t care, my and my cousin have pics from way back when our granny took of us sitting on the branches.

They don’t anymore. I guess you could if you still wanted I guess.. No one really stopping you. They are just trying to protect it. There are a few cables holding certain branches up.
