Absolutely breath taking! I'm sure the picture doesn't do this place justice still!

My first thought, was that this place isn't real and that's some good CGI lol

I’ve been here twice and if you ever go to New Zealand, you cannot miss this place! I have a DSLR and a HD camera and they just don’t capture how majestic this place is!

Its not fair that this much natural beauty exists in one place, and I get to live in a barren desert.

This is blatantly unfair .. wave a camera ANYWHERE in NZ and it’s a stunning view …

They can be really beautiful, but it doesn't feel like a place where humans belong. It gets old quick. Being surrounded by water and trees feels a lot more natural and comforting. This just adds to the aesthetic beauty, in my opinion.

Visited NZ in September and dear lord do I miss it. Not sure if I’ll find a more beautiful place than Milford sound…

We went at the tail end of winter. The drive in was absolutely spectacular, so many waterfalls cascading from the mountains as the snow melted, driving alongside a rushing river fed by them all. When we got to the entrance to the tunnel it was all snow, and the cheeky kea's showed off to all the cars that were queuing.

Coming into the sound we stopped our car due to a seal cub on the road. We had no idea what to do, the cub flopped into the bush. When we arrived at the sound we alerted a ranger who told us the mother seals leave the cubs alone regularly and it was OK. The ranger also told us there had been a landslide a week prior and they were expecting another one, we had about an hour or so to enjoy the sound but if we didn't leave soon we might have been locked in for a week as they were shutting the tunnel! Was a foggy day but took in some spectacular views and did a quick bushwalk. Absolutely unforgettable experience. I hope to visit again one day.

We are leaving for there in January and would be thrilled to capture it as well as this. Thanks for the inspiration.

I did a cruise down the sound 10 years ago and it was stunning. Saw some seals too!

Maybe I'm one of the few, but xeric places attract me. I've had the privilege of visiting several deserts and semi-deserts, and I certainly feel a sense of belonging there.

Not saying forests and lakes aren't beautiful. They are and I'm fortunate to be surrounded by them (if I drive a few minutes off the urban jungle).

But every time I visit Las Vegas, I consider moving there. Maybe Reno, where you can have everything.
