It's spelled Taughannock Falls for anyone looking for more information. It's the tallest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains at 215 feet.

It looks like the waterfall itself has frozen, and just a little steam on slow impact at the bottom. Please educate me on this.

The waterfall is not frozen. It looks that way because the exposure time of the photograph is short, but not short enough to make the falling water look super sharp. Instead it looks slightly blurry and a lot like ice. This is what an average photo of the falls looks like in any weather. (Ignoring the ice around the waterfall.) I've photographed them myself.

It's not frozen. I personally can not explain why it appears that way.

Have to not seen this in summer but still spectacular. Was very crowded. I imagine much less so in Winter.
