Dear Redditors, how do you like a warm sunrise in Patagonia? I visited Torres del Paine National Park in Chile earlier this year but only got to process this shot a few days ago. To show the summer vibe, I chose yellow flowers as the foreground. I hope you like it!
BTW if you want to see more of my photos, you can visit my Instagram for more. Much appreciated.

Any tips on taking landscape photography such that distant prominences like mountains don’t seem tiny? Like those mountains absolutely dominate the photo. When I take photos of mountains I struggle to have the hugeness come through.
justerikfotos OP t1_iywbssb wrote
Well it's case by case. Like this shot it's very close to the mountains so I used 24mm and the mountains aren't super small. Some people do focal length blending, shot the mountains bigger and composite it with wider foreground shot.

Nice thank you! And even then I bet the photo is nothing compared to the majesty of being there in person.

If you hike, hike Patagonia. A month isn't enough

No problem. Feel free to ask me anything. And yes, most of the times photo don't do justice to the real scenery.

I want to go.

You can give out all the tips you want. It still takes talent and an artistic eye to come out with a shot like this even in a place where you can look in any direction and take a "nice" picture. Well done OP. Solid reminder of why I would like to visit Patagonia.

Download the mobile app called “Seek” it can identify pretty much any animal, plant, or fungi. If you can get a higher res photo from OP, it might work

I'd say if you're coming from the US, you can save a lot of money on air ticket. Hiking is cheap but you will need to buy some domestic flights too. For other expenses, Argentina side is cheaper than Chilean side. I'd say total cost is around $600(international flights)+$300(domestic).

The end of January early this year. It can get really freezing because of the wind indeed.
