Gorgeous colors and a nice picture but, nothing says nature like wires strung across the river.

I have no idea about fishing or the optimal conditions for it or the type or quality of the game that you getnhere. But I saw a lot of families and people fishing near Mt. Baldy and near the place where this pic was taken

Shots like this are honestly fairly rare. East is a bunch of pine, west is desert or plains, Central all the cedar. But there’s pockets, Lost Maples is probably the best known.

There are some decent sized perch you can catch in this river. But during the summer months when there’s a lot of tubing/partying on the river they are hard to spot.
GoFightNguyen t1_ixsu49r wrote
I was also (pleasantly) surprised. I hunted the area back in September and the river was dang near bone dry. I waded the whole thing and never got knee deep.

Bald cypress? We get some nice fall colors from them here in FL too. One of the few deciduous conifers.

We usually don't, just been having some actual fall this year!

I think it's a different variety that doesn't make the cypress knees, maybe Montezuma, Joey Santore from crime pays but botany doesn't has some content near there about them.

I was just camping there earlier this month. It was perfect. Awesome place. Gypsy Sally's in nearby Leakey has a french dip that is the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. I had to go back the next day for another. Highly recommend.
