The shot is famous, I believe. There's a spot where you can stop here that marks where Ansel Adams took a famous black and white photo of the Tetons. If you Google "Ansel Adams Grand Tetons" it'll pop up.
ShowMeYourMinerals t1_je0ng8w wrote
Thanks, I read it as the shot made the Tetons famous.

Hello there! Thanks for checking out my photo, I took this with my Canon R6. I took this a few years ago in 2021 when I was roaming around Wyoming with some photography friends. Got so many beautiful photos during this trip that I still regularly go back to.
If you want to see more of my work, check me out on Instagram, Vero, or BeHance:

Nice! I have also taken this same photo from the same spot just a few years back. It’s a rite of passage I think for anyone who loves photography and the outdoors. Hope you got some shots of the Mormon barns also, my friend. I’ll be back there this summer, but with kids in tow. Let’s see if they’re willing to get up at 4:00 AM to listen to dad bitch about exposure issues.

Is that river bank natural or man-made? It looks too straight to be natural.
KaiserMacCleg t1_je1cgr1 wrote
It's natural. They're called river terraces.

Was out in Grand/Tetons Yellowstone 5-6 years ago its an amazing area to visit if you ever get a chance. As you drive to Jackson Hole from Grand Teton's National Park there is a good sized sign on the side of the road with a pull off.

Any idea on how high that mountain is from the cameras level?
legoracer18 t1_je2ilmp wrote
The Snake River Overlook is between 6,800 and 7,000 feet and Grand Teton reaches a height of 13.775 feet.
dotma t1_je4bybg wrote
The scale is immense. Thank you.

I was "stuck" at the Grand Tetons for a couple extra days than planned because Yellowstone flooded the day before we were supposed to arrive (yes, that flood). Our one night stay turned to a three night. So glad the lodge in the Tetons was able to accommodate us because it ended up being such a wonderful experience. Yellowstone is so hyped up, for good reasons, but I really had let that hype overshadow the beauty that was the Tetons.

Can a guy get down to the river in that spot or is it private or otherwise inaccessible?
