Drywall should be attached to studs, right? Or are your saying that there are no studs?

I mean I’m sure there are studs just not anywhere near the sink

Do you have a stud finder?

No, they’re not worth the money to me

A stud finder wouldn’t have made any difference here, the cabinet has two fixing points. If it’s mounted central to the sink those brackets are nowhere near any studs you can hear that by knocking.

All a stud finder is going to do is tell me where the studs are that I can’t mount to.

And given that this is the only cabinet I’ve ever had to or ever will mount to a semi external wall like this there’s no point spending money on one

From all the posts here it sounds like you are more interested in justifying your mistake instead of learning the way to do. You have a custom application and need a custom solution and do not have the skill set it seems.

I don’t need to justify anything I made a mistake while trying to learn how to do something.

It’s not a custom application it’s supposedly how all flats are built

Cut and sand, polish (two) plank(s)large enough to hold the cabinet. Looks better than raw wood. Anchor plank to and running across the studs each side of where you want the cabinet to hang.

Bolt the cabinet in to the board.
