If anyone would like to know more details about Nathan Hale, his capture, and the Culper ring spy network in general, I’d recommend reading: Washington’s Spies: The Story of America’s First Spy Ring , by Alexander Rose. It goes into very in-depth details about the man who was responsible for catching young Hale as well as accounts of witnesses who were at the hanging.
