It also abolishes income tax (take home what you make), payroll tax, estate tax and any gift taxes like the ones we pay after gifting 10k or more. Guarantees high taxes on extravagant purchases, cars, boats, houses etc. Don't see how that's a bad thing at all.
Nice of you to leave that part out.
Retirement age....bad idea.

I'm commented on this before, but I am disappointed that Lamont is look at tax cuts. Doing so is short-sighted and the state would be better off long-term if surpluses were used to pay down debt or improve transportation.

This is an idiotic, regressive tax plan supported only by dumb assholes and the super rich, it would only benefit the wealthy, and that's why Republicans support it. Guess you got tricked.
E: The gift tax isn't reportable by the donor until he or she gifts a lifetime total of $12,920,00, and that only includes gifts per donee beyond the annual exclusion, which this year is $17,000.00.
So unless you have gifted over $12.92 million in your whole life, not including the first $17k you gift each person per year, you will never pay one penny in federal gift tax and neither will anyone to whom you've given money.
CT excludes $16k annually and $9.1 million lifetime.

Normally I’d agree, but so little of the actual income tax dollars comes from that demo that it really doesn’t hit the bottom line too bad. It’s especially true when you consider that some of it gets clawed back in sales tax.

How about just lower or eliminate taxes on groceries? That way the poor get the money and everyone else can't complain that they aren't getting anything.

Funny how we all become accountants spending our priceless opinions while the house of cards is trembling inevitably collapse once the wrong joker of a President wants to watch the world burn.
Without reading the analytical financial piece if an individual HAS made and met the threshold of a “Killing” that individual thus moving forward if Mets threshold again an increase tax should take effect to empower the Community, Country, Countrymen. United. National. Tribe. It shall be called C.U.N.T.
It would be challenging to obtain, maintain, and cause pain. On occasion you will feel burned. A scratch to itch. Whatever it may be remember to keep it clean and keep it safe.

I'm sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. The gift tax exemption is not $10k, that's the point you have to fill out a form telling the IRS about the gift.
You have a lifetime gift exemption of $12.06 million. The first twelve million dollars you give away is tax-free. Recipients (almost) never pay tax on what they get, it's a tax on the gifter.
Estate tax is also a cool $12.06 million dollars. No working person is ever hitting either of these limits. Conservative news goes on and on about the death and gift taxes because they want working people to be mad about taxes that will only ever hit the extraordinarily wealthy.

The only ‘groceries’ that are taxed are prepared foods, such as rotisserie chicken, prepared salads, bagels, sandwiches, hot soups.
All other groceries have No tax.

Tax cuts for a population that pays very little in taxes..... meanwhile my effective tax rate last year looks about 35% including federal, payroll, state, and property. Including sales it edges closer to 40%.
At what point have I paid my fair share?

You don't because our government refuses to punish people who make bad decisions that lead to poverty because no one can suffer. Except it comes off the backs of the middle class struggling to survive as it is.

That'd be nice. Contrast the Republican plan of 30% sales tax on the poor and a new retirement age of 70.
