Aldi selling wine seems dangerous lol, each bottle would be like $3. All jokes aside, is that a thing in other states? Don’t recall seeing any of the maybe 4 locations I’ve been to in CT selling any type of alcohol other than white claw hard seltzer knockoffs.

It is a thing in other states, for both stores. Trader Joe’s wine is famously called 2-buck-chuck, but I think the price is closer to $5/$6 a bottle now. I’ve also been to Aldi in Germany (it’s home country) and it was amazing.

Fun fact: in CT, you don’t need a Costco membership to shop at their liquor store and their store brands are often name brands in disguise.

I've never seen any of the Trader Joe's or JosephsBrau beers in CT stores (I've most often been to Danbury and West Hartford).

Trader Joe's in CT used to sell a store brand of beer (at least an amber and an IPA) made by "State Line Brewing" which was contract brewed by Cottrell Brewing. Cottrell closed in 2022, so I assume that State Line is gone as well.

I would guess that Trader Joe's haven't done the paperwork to distribute their beers in the state and it was simply easier to contract brew a different line in-state.

Fun fact: Aldi is actually 2 independent companies, Nord and Süd (north and south), run by brothers but otherwise not connected.

Aldi Nord is the business that owns Trader Joe's while Aldi Süd is the company that owns the US Aldi stores, so the two businesses in the US are also not related.

IIRC from trying to pick up a Christmas beer they put out at one point, there's legal stuff that prevents them from selling their own beer in CT. I think I ended up going to one in MA or RI to get it.

Yeah dude, there is a trader joe’s right in the bass pro parking lot at Gillette stadium.

I always buy their “simpler times” 6 pack of lager for $2.99

My favorite tailgate beer just because it’s 3 bucks for a 6 pack. And it’s decent.

However here in CT, I haven’t seen it I looked.

I don't think so? If you go to the website you can search for stores with alcohol. I believe the closest is in Framingham MA.
