"It's difficult to say that any one state is the best state to live in, as different states have different strengths and attract different types of people. Connecticut, like all states, has its own unique features and characteristics that may make it a good fit for some people and not for others. Here are a few things that some people might consider to be positives about living in Connecticut:

  • Location: Connecticut is located in the northeastern United States, which means it's relatively close to major cities like New York and Boston. This can be convenient for those who want to be within easy reach of cultural and professional opportunities.
  • Cost of living: Connecticut has a relatively high cost of living compared to other states, but it also has a high median income. This means that while the cost of living may be higher, residents may also have more disposable income to spend on housing, food, and other necessities.
  • Quality of life: Connecticut has a lower crime rate compared to the national average, and it's known for having good schools and a high level of educational attainment. It's also home to a number of cultural attractions, including art museums, historical sites, and recreational opportunities.

Again, these are just a few factors that might make Connecticut a good place to live for some people. Ultimately, the best place to live is a highly personal decision that depends on an individual's priorities and needs."

My take is that we don’t really get hurricanes, tornados, or have bugs that can kill you, excessive prolonged heat, cold etc.. I like it. It’s home. Probly won’t ever leave cause it’s all I know. Is it perfect? Nope. But I know it well and its home. Like it says, We have NYC within a short drive, beaches, and wilderness. Just wish the Whalers were still here. I still miss them.

I wish we had a professional mens team period in our state. Sorry minor league baseball does not count.

Yup. I enjoy the goats and UConn teams but it’s never going to be the same.

No, but we have ticks. Lyme usually won't kill you, but a bad case can really fuck you up. Take precautions.

It’s not pointless and doesn’t say automatically.it states “median income” for those in the median income job types you are paid more. It’s the reason why so many in western MA work over the line here in CT. Especially teachers.

Also, bold is obnoxious.

Minimum wage is almost double the federal minimum here.

Median income being higher means there’s lots of jobs that pay pretty well

Well if you work at Walmart in Tennessee and transfer to Connecticut, your pay will have to be raised to the new minimum at least. Most service jobs pay more here than in other parts of the country. That’s the same for every national company.

I’m getting this information because I live in connecticut and I’ve worked in connecticut my whole life. People have transferred from out of state to here and have had a pay increase because of the minimum wage and tenure.

Do you have any sources that contest what the op writes besides your personal experience? I don’t.
