I first read this as moose in an apartment and was impressed you could fit one in there haha.

The best bet is to have a pest control/exterminator company come out to evaluate and recommend the best course of action that you can bring to your LL. This way you have a paper trail and professional recommendation

It will fall on the landlord. Communicate via text/email to insure you have proof.

If landlord fails to address and have a proper paper trail - you can report it to housing authorities; take care of it yourself, and be reimbursed or have it deducted from a rent payment.

Check housing authority for clarification and proper steps on dealing with slum lords.

Mice get in this time of year. A single mouse isn't an infestation, though it could turn into one if it is pregnant. Set a trap or series of them where the mouse travels.

I have had the occasional mouse get in my house when it gets cold.

Large holes should be repaired. Smaller holes/around pipes, stuff steel wool and caulk or spray foam.

Mice can get in through even a small opening around a pipe under sinks and behind laundry appliances.

I get it, I hate mice. They get into food and cabinets. Nobody wants that.

This isn’t really about the wall repair. Mice can get in through even properly built/repaired walls. You just need a bit of pest control. Just tell your landlord and they should pay for that.

Unfortunately mice are a problem in just about every building. They find their way in no matter what, it’s somewhat impressive.

If it’s one mouse, you can easily put down a $1 trap with peanut butter on it and your problem will be solved very quickly.

Mice get in everywhere even in well built newer houses, they can fit in even the smallest hole or crack. Likely the way this one got in wasn’t because some botched repair, but as others suggested, seal any crack around the repair that was made with foam or similar.

How about instead of killing an animal you have it as a pet or you capture it and put it outside so it can go be with its family and friends?

There’s a big gaping hole in the wall where some douche bag took a hand saw to run some washer pipes, don’t think it would be too much to ask if it was repaired properly. Especially if it’s an entry/exit for rodents
