That's a jet flying away from you. You're facing roughly, south by southwest, and the jet looks like it's heading slightly more southerly, maybe even southeasterly? The part of the contrail closest to you has been pushed around by the wind a bit. It looks dark, just as the clouds, because it is already in Earth's shadow. Sunset was at 4:28.

Well, I'm sure it was a lot easier to get a sense of depth seeing it in person.

That said, it's always contrails.

That’s how it looked. Prior to this it was a tighter spiral looking cloud.

Where was this? There was a massive explosion here in Berlin. There was PD firearms training around the same time we figured it was related to that. But the explosion. Was no joke.

Edit: sorry I see near enfield. Probably not related.
