The temps are supposed to drop below freezing (there will be a lot of water on the ground to turn to ice) and start snowing around 2. That plus holiday travel and the roads are going to be a nightmare this evening. Kids not only need to be able to get to school safely but get home also

It’s not about snow. They just told you it’s about the ice. Plus it’s super windy and there is a risk of trees falling and power outages are throughout the state.

Aye I'm happy they closed our towns schools. It was only a half day anyway, the holidays literally start tomorrow.

It's going to be icy, windy and have lots of holiday traffic. It's not a major storm or anything but the rain is going to freeze quick and catch people off guard, and the wind can cause power outages. I just lost power for a few minutes in fact.

I miss Dr. Mel! He used to get so excited about storms.
I remember one hurricane and he was out on his deck at his home on the water in East Haven. He was so excited. Hair was blowing and he was laughing! There's a bench on the beach dedicated to him.
