This isn’t specific to Lieberman but I’d rather a flip-flipper over a gutless party liner. Or am I misinterpreting your use of flip-flopper? Edit to add: not talking about anyone specifically (Murphy)

Murphy isn't a gutless party guy though... He's been making noise about the Saudi while the party line has been business as usual. It's one place where I part ways with Biden.

Sorry, I edited for clarification. My comment was not about Murphy.

I meant party flip flopper. He flip flopped a lot on policy and often would choose whatever made him look good or powerful. He spoke nonsense, advocated for nothing, and just liked to slow down any progress in congress so he’d be important. He didn’t care about the people he represented nor held true political beliefs. His only objective was to be elected, stay elected, supported whatever at the time made him look good or help him climb the political ladder. My father was a republican 20 years ago. Not a neo con; not a die hard republican - a centralist that voted for who ever he thought was the best at the time nor did he hold the same policy beliefs over time regardless of what was going on. He hated Lieberman for leaving the Republican Party because Lieberman only did it not because he’s views change but because he lost the primary. He went independent for the same reason latter on. He supported John McCain simply because he was friends with him and John was going to make him secretary of the state or something. He literally was gore’s vp and 8 years later is supporting the continuation of policies he campaigned against. He even attempted to run in 2004 as a democrat so clearly he did not like bush’s policies. McCain’s policies was a continuation of bush.
