Hartford needs to invest more into the night life aspect of its city. There’s so many unused/abandoned buildings or spaces where entire blocks can have a wide array of night life similar to New Haven

You mean they’re going to places that have invested in attracting great restaurants and shops, have focused on beautifying public spaces and maintaining public safety?

Imagine that.

>Lakhotia has begun an ambitious remodeling of the two-story building at 102 W. Main St., and architects are designing an expansion that will add a third and fourth floor.

>Gov. Ned Lamont’s administration chose the project for a “Community Challenge Grant” partly because New Britain is a distressed city, the building is historic and the apartments will be within a half-mile of the CTfastrak busway.

>About 20 percent of apartments at 102 W. Main St. will be priced as affordable, but Lakhotia expects the rest will rent at market rates. Like Krohn, his projects will include amenities and a fashionable design to be appealing to young professionals.

I’m super excited about this project and any revitalizing projects in new Britain. My entire family is from there but left as the city deteriorated and businesses pulled out.

Drove by today and I think the slogan they are using is Hard Hittin New Livin or something like that which is…an interesting choice. Also advertised as “luxury” which is…interesting given there is a bail bond storefront within eye sight of the building lol

As a former resident I’m happy to New Britain making a comeback. Definitely a vast improvement from what the city was like back in the 90’s.

Idk what Erin Stewart did in the center of NB but it’s working pretty well.

It used to be a straight up Homeless Encampment. Where did all the homeless people go? Did she kill them, ship them to Texas? Idk, but it’s better

I’m convinced she killed them. She seems like a nice lady, but all of a sudden they just disappeared. Its still New Britain in the center, but it used to be a war zone. She seriously must have bussed them somewhere else

Mayor Stewart has been doing a lot to make new Britain a hip and interesting place to live. They really do have to do something about North Street and the areas around it though. I feel like it should be the next part that gets revitalized.

The building that was there was torn down years ago, this really isn't new
