Yeah, I didn’t hire Emma Watson to come to my 2 part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows viewing party.

Also, maybe you made a mistake with the whole not hiring Emma Watson thing

I think you guys are seriously reading into the word “professional” a bit much… like are you envisioning some sort of tuxedo-clad gentleman? I was thinking maybe a dealer at a casino that does this as a side gig or something less serious like that

I’m not reading too much in…there’s absolutely no reason you need a person who’s worked in a casino and professional references for a themed family party. Bj is probably the easiest game to deal out of all casino table games and by no stretch of the imagination do you need a professional to do this. Hiring someone like the other poster who was talking about bachelor party type things will cost you a ton of money and this could be a much cheaper expenditure.
Like you can hire someone to do this who knows the game very easily without seeing references or them having casino employment experience. If you were hiring for wal mart would you need people to have a masters degree in order to apply?
I can only imagine a shift supervisor or pit boss having to take a phone call asking for a reference for a former employee to work at a kids party.

Wtf do you care if I need or want a professional dealer? Again, you’re reading into this too much. I didn’t say it’s a kids party I said it’s family friendly.
I’m not sure why you’re so hard up on this but whatever floats your boat. If I want a professional dealer then wtf not? Am I offending you with my quest for a seamless casino night experience?

Because it’s truly a bizarre request to ask for professional references for someone you’re hiring for 2 hours for a family party. And i also tried help you out a little earlier by telling you that you don’t need that level of person where you will spend maybe a thousand dollars for a few hours when you can find someone who knows how to deal it but doesn’t work at a casino for probably $30 an hour.
Best not to freak out when people are trying to help you.

It’s not bizarre at all. If it was there wouldn’t be people chiming into this thread saying they owned a business that caters to this exact request.
I appreciate you trying to save me a buck but this is not a money saving situation (who attempts to get a professional dealer on a budget?), this is a “I would like this specific thing and I’m willing to pay for it” kinda thing. Shit, I could do the dealing myself (or one of the guests) but then that person isn’t having the same level of enjoyment as everyone else. It’s much easier to have someone else do the dealing so no one has to worry about it. Also, do you just let random people in your home for hours at a time without some sort of verification or loose reference?
