The AMC in Plainville is probably the nicest AMC outside Fairfield county. There's a new 'luxury' theater in West Hartford, but it's basically just a normal theater that will bring food to your seat.

The West Hartford theater has the type of reclining seats as the AMC. It’s pretty nice. The only thing it doesn’t have is stadium seating because that wouldn’t work well for the full food service.

my favorite theater is the river view in southbury - didn’t open that long ago and the seat are comfortable

Madison Cinemas renovated recently- a good place for small run flicks, beautiful, classic theatre feel, but with reclining seats!

I’m gonna go with AMC Plainville too. Idk if it’s the most “updated” but it’s the nicest I’ve been to. I like DOLBY Cinema. Skip the IMAX— older seating.
Check eBay for packages with an AMC Black Ticket+Drink+Popcorn for like $10.

I personally think the Cinemark in North Haven is the best around

Mystic Luxury Cinemas is fantastic. They have big comfy reclining seats that are heated! They serve hot food as well as the traditional movie concessions, as well as beer and wine. When I went to see the latest Thor, it was Mimosa Sunday and they had an amazing artist doing a chalk drawing of Thor in the lobby.

It's great, but the seats are showing their age now. The bar isn't always open either.

Completely agree they have several theatre setups that are awesome depending on how you want to watch and sit during the film.

If you’re looking for up to date, Plainville 20 and Manchester 18 both have been updated in the last five and seven years, respectively. They’ve both got the IMAXes, Manchester added a second premium sized screen and has the moving DBOX seats.

Unfortunately they don’t assign seats for tickets bought in advance. It’s also difficult to find the first time.

Buckland hills has some seats that vibrate and move around during the movie on some movies.

I like the west hatford one just because it’s roomy, you get the service to the seat, beers, close to home for me. Having grown up going to jam packed mega theaters with cramped knees, this place is a dream lol. Gets pricey quick if you go nuts with food and stuff though.

That is an understatement. The seats were disgusting last time I was there.

Cinemark in Manchester has all the updated luxury liner seats, IMAX, D-Box etc.
But as I learned from the last thread, it’s not both imax and luxury seats at the same time. I would do the reclining seats, as you can pick your assigned seat off the website first. And really it’s a good amount of space on your own with decent sound
