I’ve posted this before but it’s worth posting again.
UHart is so expensive. Private school prices with none of the benefits. I attended UHart 10+ years ago for a different major and I’m still paying those loans. I would highly recommend looking into public school options which will be much better financially. Just my own opinion - I know nothing about this major specifically.
This. I’d go to CCSU over UHart… private school prices aren’t worth it unless it’s a big name.
This. 1/2 the cost and honestly a better program.
Business I would say is a toss up. But CS you want to be at CCSU. Even out of state it makes more sense to go to CCSU.
No. UConn or one of the other state universities would be a MUCH better value.
One of my high school friends went to UHart. He and every single person he was friends with there all transferred elsewhere.
Honestly, no. I've been out of college for a while now, but I was not impressed by their engineering school when I was looking. They offered me one of the weakest financial aid / scholarship packages of anywhere I looked, too. Even WPI would have been cheaper, if I recall correctly.
UConn has significantly better academics and better name recognition for engineering, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. Their CS, CSE, Comp Eng, and EE programs are all excellent.
LOL it's called UHa for a reason...its a joke.
And the big names tend to have great financial aid.
I’d would definitely look at your ROI from UHa, CCSU will cost you considerably less
As someone who works in higher education, unless you’re trying to get into a specialized post degree program, where you went generally means very little. A teaching degree from CCSU is worth the same as one from Yale.
I'll reiterate what many have already said here, I don't think University of Hartford is worth the cost. Very high tuition and I don't think the name carries the weight to justify the cost.
I'm an engineering student, not comp sci so I don't know the ins and outs obviously, but the few friends I have that have graduated from CCSU with comp Sci degrees seem to be doing very well for themselves. I'd say it's worth looking into the programs over at Central or even UConn.
I've been out of college for years, but I started at UHart and left after an English professor handed us a book I had read in the 6th grade for a class. Unsure if things have changed but it wasn't a great school in the 3 semesters I was there.
I'm a senior software engineer with 15 years experience. I can say when I worked for Connecticut based companies we tried to pull from UCONN. I really don't know anything about how the schools compare, but if UCONN is better for you financially, go there. You'll easily find employment as a developer if you go to UCONN.
I feel old. My wife went to UHart and I went to CCSU starting as a Comp Sci major. I was going to offer advice but after realizing that was over 20 years ago I think I'll sit this one out.
I don’t know anything about University of Hartford, but I can confirm that CCSU has great computer science program.
If you not attending UHART for nursing or business. You mind we’ll go somewhere else lol
Super expensive, and going up every semester
A former coworker is an adjunct professor in the engineering school at UHa - I would not pay to have him teach anything in engineering.
UHA has been circling the drain for years. Enrollment is way down, their finances are an unmitigated disaster, and their administration is doing their best to completely destroy what is left of the school. I can’t remember the last time there was an positive article about them in any media outlet and they’re being sued left and right. I think most employees would not be surprised to go to work one day and find out the place has closed for good.
They do have some good programs but all of the crap bleeds into the overall environment and feel of the campus. A comp sci degree from there is not worth the money and underlying nonsense.
I went to uhart on a massive scholarship it was cheaper than a state school. They used to offer some really big scholarships. Personally I wouldn’t go there if you are not on one it’s not worth the cost at all
Uconn is so inconvenient. East bum f.
CCSU CS for undergrad, and work your tail off and get the grades. Grant money is there for the best performers. Then go to the best grad school you can find. I did CCSU undergrad, graduated SCL, and then went to Yale for grad school. Yale covered my tuition except about $3k, and no TA duties. It opened so many doors...
Wow wish Yale covered my tuition!😂 my grad school loans are nuts.

You are close enough to CCSU and their CS dept is amazing. Cost wise i believe it should be better as well.
