I recently got hit with a fun mistake courtesy of the Peoples->M&T migration. While my September mortgage payment went through (scheduled for 09/06), it looks like my October payment was.. skipped? deleted? rescheduled? Not sure of the exact issue - but regardless it wasn't sent. I didn't see the issue until my mortgage company sent me a polite email. Of course, there's a nice little fee with this mistake. Thanks M&T!

At any rate, check your October auto-pays and make sure those went through too.

This is why I have all my autopay accounts set to pull from the provider side, not pushed from the bank side. Haven’t had an issue yet doing it that way.

This, never EVER have it set to send from your bank. If the bank messes up (guaranteed they will at some point), your mortgage company isn’t going to give a single fuck.

If the company your paying messes up, that’s on them.

Yep! And then it still went through... but now they are "crediting" it as though it will be canceled. I also had a splash screen on one of my login's stating that they knew my account had been impacted by some processing issue and implied they would cover fees. I wish I had saved the text, because I'd love to get the fee back for my late mortgage payment. Wasn't cheap!

Crediting it as if it’s cancelled doesn’t make sense. That wouldn’t even make up for late fees because they wouldn’t know how much late fees are.
