So curious if people in CT are locking in the rates for home heating oil and if so with who? I called Tracy and they suspended the program starting 2 weeks ago. My friend said he locked in a rate with Petro oil in Norwalk and when I called them the other day they were saying they wouldn't go higher that 4.80 something. Which is far lower than current market values and it is all suspect to me.

So just seeing what people here are doing about the winter heating oil?

Thanks

I haven’t seen any place that allows locking in a rate. At least in Hartford county.

Just going to watch and wait, https://www.cheapestoil.com/heating-oil-prices/Connecticut

Cheapest rates are $4.99 right now

Thanks for the link. I wished I had locked in a month ago. Sweaters for the family for Christmas!

Some oil companies still let you lock in a rate. About a month ago I locked in at 4.81, which at the time I thought was a rip-off, now it's over 5.21. Just keep calling all the local companies until you find one. I've heard rumors of it going up to 10.00 this season, so don't wait.

I have a contract with Tracy for services but I'm going to have to break it and lock it in with someone. God I hope it doesn't go to 10, if it does then society will grind to a halt.

I use Roman Oil in Meriden. I locked in a couple weeks ago under $5.
