These are donuts we’re talking about
Back in the early-mid 90s, was making Donuts at Dunkin on 3rd shift.
People were constantly lining up for freshly-dipped, still-warm French Crullers at 2:30am without fail.
I’ve been at 10am on a Saturday and they were pretty well stocked. They also are pretty amazing at getting a line moving. It went really quickly.
Do they tend to sell out most days?
Lifelong ct resident who lives about 20 minutes away but has never been… just hoping to get the best!
Good luck! The worst that happens is maybe you’ll need to go again.
They’re good, but nothing amazing. They’re just doughnuts. Enjoy the adventure though.
Any better donuts in CT you’d recommend? I’d always heard Neil’s is the best
Again, it’s a doughnut. You’ll enjoy it in the moment but you won’t eat one and think back on it years later.
I haven’t tried but plan on it soon- Brooklyn Bakery in Waterbury- often called best in CT
Fairfield County: Rise in Wilton - warm out of the oven, unique flavors and really good. Stupidly expensive - I think around $4 per doughnut.
Coffee An in Westport (right off the Merritt and not snooty Westporty. It’s a small diner type place that also has doughnuts - Very good, more traditional. Cash only though.
Uncle Leo’s Norwalk and Georgetown (corner of Redding, Ridgefield, Wilton) - better than average, made fresh daily.
Speedy Doughnuts, Norwalk. Local doughnut shop - very good but not quite up to Neil’s.
Luke’s, Avon.
Gerry’s, Ellington
Elmwood, West Hartford
Harvest, Bristol
Mrs. Murphy’s, Southwick, MA
*I haven’t had Neil’s yet, but these are all very good donuts.
I want to know the secret of unlocking this mystery as well.
Yeah get there a little after 6 people wait around outside for them to open sometimes
I don't know but we often go right after lunch and they still have donuts most of the time, at least our favorites (sugar and glazed with raspberry filling).
I live 10 minutes away, have gone at a few different times, just try to beat the busses if you can.. pain in the ass if you have to cross traffic leaving there at like 7/730am
5:30
Just preorder lol

Uh. I mean sometimes they sell out of stuff like the baked goods (muffins, bagels), but they're constantly making more donuts. If the stuff in the trays is gone, just ask if they're making more. You're not buying concert tickets, it's a confection. Lining up early is overkill.
