The storm warning is saying a foot to a foot and a half but the weather channel forecast for tomorrow says only 3 to 5 inches.
Seems like another overhyped storm with exaggerated snowfall

Don't forget high winds or possibly calm.
Temp -8 to 74F
Chance of moonlight later
So if I'm reading this right, you're saying 10 inches of rain is a possibility.

Honestly I should have said 26 inches. That is the higher end estimate that I see in the northwest corner.
Anybody from Connecticut knows you can't judge a storm by expecting one total for the whole state. That's just an unreasonable assumption. And depending upon which station you listen to will tell you a different story because that's where they're located. My house is on the Mass border on the 91 corridor and I'll be getting a foot there however where I work in Milford I'll only be seeing a coating to 2 in. You have to learn to check your weather from multiple sources if you live in Connecticut.
You travel that everyday?
Yea for 7 years now.
Hartford and Long Wharf traffic- I do not envy you
2 x 5 x 50 = 500 hours
500 / 24 = 20.83 days
500 / 8 = 62.5 work days
Yikes!
I feel like some people secretly like these insane commutes. If I had say 4 kids Iβd probably like 4 hours alone in my car 5 days a week
I had close to a total of two hours daily for a commute before the pandemic (It was probably around an hour and 45 minutes). I hated it. However, the job was one that was the right direction for my career, even though it was far away from home.
Just don't have the kids, bam!

Yeah, I had a similar commute pre-covid and I realized that I was spending upwards of 20 days a year sitting in my car, in traffic.
I'm still remote work all but one day a week, and I figure that I'd, at the very least, need to take a HEFTY raise to be convinced to do that commute again.
Got a new car in 2020 and it's only got 20k miles on it today - the wear and tear remote work has saved is pretty great, too.
I get more work done at home because I don't have people coming into my office to bitch collaborate.
That's with the time I waste on Reddit!
Thank you for your service
Not really a CT-specific thing, if you commute 70 miles with elevation change you should be checking separate forecasts for both places regardless of where in the world you are...
I just go to the ocean and tell Long Island to take it all. Regardless of where itβs coming from.

This is a very hard to forecast storm and the amounts of snow will vary based on where you are in the state. I follow eweather on Twitter and his forecast is usually very accurate. They have an app too, if Twitter isnβt your thing.
Props for the eweather guy. Only forecast I trust and he isn't even sure about this one
I follow a bunch of weather folks and his forecast is generally the most accurate and the least full of hyperbole. Iβm a fan!
Big ups to eweather!
eweather is on Facebook too.
Very little for the shoreline. Lots of cold rain for us.
1-32β
For snow forecast, always expect the worse.
and so on. Better to over-prepare and only deal with a few inches, than to ignore the risk and get 2 feet.
From rain to 10 ft of snow
Different parts of the state are getting different amounts of snow. My house near New Haven says maybe 2-3β, my house right across the state line in MA is getting 22β.
I wish I could just get one house. Sigh.

We live in the nw corner so we're supposed to be getting over a foot. My sister lives by the shoreline and will barely be getting anything but they're supposed to be getting high winds. It really depends on your area.
Same here. My logic is, Iβll see what itβs like when I wake up tomorrow. Mother Nature has her own plans.
Exactly. All you can do is prepare as best you can.
Supposed to get hardly anything in southeastern Connecticut
Yes, just rain i see
Itβs almost like there are different areas and elevations in the state.
I closely follow weather twitter and this seems to be for them an insanely confusing storm. The path keeps wobbling, and even a small adjustment means drastically different snow totals
The low-pressure system keeps moving. If it stays close to shore, it means more rain. If it wobbles out to sea, that means colder temps can get farther south and more snow. We're talking about a 50-mile difference in where the front ends up, so it's difficult to predict.
Depends on specific location. I'm near the MA state line at 1200', so I'm expecting well over a foot. But 10 minutes away at the bottom of the hill, they'll probably only get 3-5".
I drove from an elevation of 900 feet down to Bradley airport at 4am, it was really shitty. It was predicted to be still rain at the lower elevations at that time, but its heavy wet snow. Not excited for the drive home today
Tolland here, last I checked, 3-5 inches if that and it all looks like just rain with temps ranging from low to mid 40s so I have no idea
my area was show 8+inches of snow 3 days ago. went to 4-8 then 2-6 and now 1-3.....yeah...its going to rain
Yes
1-3 in snow after 2 inches of rain. I didnt even bother hooking up the plow so knowing my luck storm will shift and weβll get a foot. Windham/Norwich area
I am going to say 3 inches Fairfield county with not much sticking to roads just some slush. I base this off of not much of anything
If I somehow obtain a time machine, Iβll come back to tell you the exact snow fall outcome, ok?
They need something to talk about! Seriously though, the over reporting is out of control - with news 8 on the scene!

Maaaaybe. Looking again, we might get a half day tomorrow, two hour delay on Wednesday.
Yeah what happened there buddy
I think some are on spring break
Colleges might be, but most K-12 schools have their break in April.
not predictable for any one location
Hopefully we get 0 inches! Although they have down graded it to lots of wet rain and not that much snow for Hartford co. Iβd say stop trusting the weather influencers and just read it on noaa weather site online.. you canβt trust anything on tv anymore since itβs all centered on ratings
One foot for the final hurrah, that much I know

Usually if youβre north for the merritt parkway youβre getting snow, south of it youβre just getting rain
Any snow will melt.
Any where from 0-50 inches would be a safe bet
Nothing but rain so far where I live in Hartford county, but ya never know what could happen overnight. Honestly prefer snow to icy rain/sleet
so far only rain and moderate wind.
I'm in Milford. You guys got snow?
Depends on what town you live in
the further north you go the more snow you get.
Closer to the shoreline the less snow.
And I forgot, BETTER GO GET THAT BREAD AND MILK
I love a storm
Iβm not buying it. I say lots of wind and rain. Maybe a mix up north by me. Itβll be slush by Wednesday. I may not even plow it.
Only rain where I live
I got a plane to catch Wednesday morning. Hopefully no delays then
Iβm betting we get more rain than snow in the majority of the state.

Raining here in Windsor!
Zero snow, itβs going to rain all day
I wish we would get some snow. It is currently pouring rain in So. Ffld County.
Above 84 = π or just some rain
Well im on the coast and it's just rain here.
Zip zero
I got zero down by the coast
Just raining here on the shoreline.

Anywhere from 0 to 10 inches of rain or snow; possibly sunshine, fog is likely and a chance of clouds.
Edit: I was right!
