Columbia is literally one of the safest towns on the East Coast. That area is one of the safest areas of Columbia. So bars are only necessary on the bottom floor windows. πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

Every day at 3pm the local gangs have a shootout in the target parking lot. Cops won’t even come around anymore. Stay safe out there.

In all seriousness, I just moved away from Tamar Drive about 6 weeks ago. It really depends on which side of it you are on. It's safe, but there is petty crime, and is a bit nicer farther up towards 29.

I am in the "bad" part of Columbia by the mall. What I can tell you from having lived here for 10 years the majority of crime I have seen is occasional vandalism and a stolen car. Most of Columbia is very safe as far as crime goes. The worst parts of Columbia are better than most other cities.

If you live near Long Reach village and high school there may be some random vagabonds walking around possible of petty crime but there is police substation nearby. The areas across Snowden are very very safe.
