Hi all,
I am looking for repair shops for my Vizio LED tv. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Thank you!
Lol this.
99% of the time its cheaper to buy a new TV.
What’s wrong with it?
I use to work for samsung repairing tv's whats wrong with the tv and i can tell you if its worth it. depending on the size and cost.
Not OP, but I have a curved screen Samsung that's 5-6 years old now. A section of pixels went black about 6"x1" near the corner and starts on the edge of the screen. There was no impact or anything to cause it. There's no discoloration around the area that's black. Can that be repaired? If you need me to look up the exact model number, I'll get that for you.
so anytime you have issues with the panel which this sounds like you would need to replace the panel. which is definitely not worth the repair. cost of the panel is usually just $100-200 less than buying the tv new. factor in the xost of Labor and you would have purchased a new tv. For a second opinion UBREAKIFIX should be able to give you a quote.
I got this tv for free from a neighboor. It is a Vizio model E70-E7. So I guess it is 70 in? Very big compared to my current tv (50 in).
I thought since I didn’t pay anything for this tv then I think it would be forth it to spend $200-300 to fix it. What do you think? Specially because all the 70-in TVs I could find were more than $400.
The issue is there are dark shadows on the screen, I believe it is top and bottom. So maybe the backlight needs to be replaced.
The website Angi quote at around $300 to fix it.
you may be getting a quote of $300 for the labor. what exactly is wrong with the unit?
I don't know of any shops in the area, but if you know someone handy there's usually pretty good videos available of how to repair tvs. There's one on the page for replacement backlights that goes through the process for a model close to yours:

I've done this kind of repair a few times now and it's usually not too complicated.
Vizio TVs are very inexpensive.
It's very unlikely to be cost effective to have it repaired, as opposed to just buying a new one.
Vizio tv's have actually come up in price, their prices are almost on par with samsung, so saying that they are in expensive is not a true statement. the cheap tv's are TCL, HISENSE, Westing House, Toshiba Fire TV and a few others.
TVs are so cheap nowadays compared to what it once was it's rarely worth it to repair. Just replace.
Columbia MD?
There is no point in getting a TV repaired.
