Seemingly random but related thought: Perhaps it’s time to consider paying board members? As the saying goes, “you get what you pay for.” Time to find ways to incentivize serious and well qualified residents to become involved, otherwise you’re left with a group of clowns which appears to be the situation now.

Right, I only thought it was random because the article does not directly address this issue, but appears to be the indirect result of the problems raised in the article.
