In whole scope of the DMV area? Dc and bmore usually get decent scores online because being near water that makes sense it seems being near the ocean greatly helps allergies overall. More inward cities like Germantown etc seem to always have way worse allergy issues.
If you are coming from a place with less plants (say the Southwest/desert) then it will be bad in comparison.
Depending on what you're sensitive to, generally springtime is rough - the pollen gets very bad and I need to make sure that I start taking allergy meds in late February.
Summer through winter is fine for most.
Worse than North Carolina, which surprised me. But later and shorter tree pollen season. Just as intense, if not more. Weed pollen is pretty bad. Grass pollen is intense but short.

Yeah, I've been wondering about mold related allergies with all the rain we've been getting lately.
Very different cities! Each have their pros and cons. Low cost of living in NC but you get what you pay for.
The increase in plane spraying in the sky also has increased so much the last 3 months I think that fucks up our breathing

I lived in Baltimore for ten years and my allergies never bothered me. The first spring I moved to Columbia I got a massive sinus infection and they've been a recurring issue ever since. Most of the time, it's better here than when I was growing up on the Eastern Shore, but there's a couple of weeks in the fall and spring that are nightmarish.
Awful… I take soooo many medications (Rx and OTC) and it’s just not enough, so I finally started allergy shots last year to try and get a handle on allergies
Yea so it seems because Baltimore is open to the ocean with ocean winds etc it prevents many allergy symptoms because why else would just moving slightly inward to Columbia cause you this many problems?
Columbia is also very deliberately green in a way major cities tend not to be.
My kid's pediatrician said it best "if you didn't have an allergy before moving to Maryland you will now". He was right, before moving here I didn't have allergies, since moving here I found I now have some allergies.

It gets bad for a couple weeks in the spring and fall when trees blossom and leaves fall. Other than that it's pretty good.
