Cut the cord years ago and never looked back. The best flexibility comes from getting an antenna for the locals; signal is good in the area unless you’re in an apartment or something. If you’re wanting cable channels go with slingtv for cheap or YouTube tv for more cost but a less buggy experience. But I stopped getting cable chans altogether, just subscribe to Netflix/Disney/hbo max/whatever for the month they have the show you want playing.

Never tried it myself but I’ve heard good things. Like I said I don’t watch cable channels myself anymore.
