I've lived in the area for half a decade and haven't come across a great yoga studio amid these neighborhoods. My fiance really values doing yoga as part of her weekly routine but it's been hard to find a studio for her. She prefers a studio with a focus on the core principals of yoga (i.e. mindfulness) while still providing a solid workout. What studios do people like the most in the area?

I really want to buy her a series of passes in the area for the holidays so she can find the one that's best for her. All suggestions are appreciated!!!

Down Under Yoga is great - they have a wide variety of different types of yoga. They have a few locations near where you mentioned (Harvard Sq. Porter). Definitely check them out!

If she wants to try Pilates, I own Fitlab Pilates in Inman Square!

Thanks! She's tried Down Under a few times. I think if it was closer to where we live, it could fill her need.

She's been eying Fitlab, do you have any gift or starter packages?

Yes we do! We have an intro session/Great Start package (4 private sessions) for $295. After that there are different options with group classes and private sessions. Feel free to DM me with any questions!

What was the one that used to be there? It was right in the heart of Porter. It used to win “best of” every year….

Was it in the same spot? I think some of the Down Unders used to be Baptiste?

That’s what I was thinking! Is Down Under in the same location? If so, that’s the one.

Yeah, I think they took over Baptiste a few years ago? (After the scandal that is)

Boston Bouldering project has yoga, and it’s included for free with membership. If you’re also into climbing it’s a pretty decent deal

We like going there a lot. We've been buying the 10 passes there and occasionally hitting up the yoga when we go. Great suggestion

I really like Mota in union square! They have cheap individually priced sessions ($15-25) if you only want to drop in and do a few classes every once in a while. They also offer a one month unlimited pass to try out as many classes as you'd like, before ultimately/possibly getting a real full time membership.

Same! I didn’t think I’d like yoga but trying MOTA through LastPass got me into it. It’s a pretty great and welcoming space

Be yoga in Union is great. It's a smaller studio but they have some great instructors.

It looks like a solid sport and a great location for us. Do you have any specific class time or teachers you recommend?

Diane and LILLY were the absolute best but I’m not sure if either of them teach anymore.
