When you say minimalist, are you talking about purse level minimalist or front pocket level minimalist?

Preference on a bill-fold style, or would you be open to a travel style one that zips? I have a super simple zippered one that I've been using daily since 2016 and I love it! (I'm happy to tell you more if you want, but if the style isn't for you, all good!)

Wish I knew what mine was called, bought it at an airport for travel. Bills fold three times around a small lightweight metal case. The case stops scanning (for theft) and holds six cards. There is a cool little lever that makes them pop up staggered for easy access. Never fallen out. There is also room for more cards in pockets of the folding sections.. Small and effective, I love it. It's barely much larger in dimensions than the cards themselves..
