You are in the wrong sub, this is BIFL where we speak to lifespan. Do you want the longest lifespan snow shovel or not? Best is subjective and you get opinions, which normally suck. Bent handle. Straight handle. Handle in the middle of the shaft. Narrow scoop. Wide scoop. Metal. Plastic. All have their pros and cons depending on if you are an 83 year old arthritis sufferer or a stong like bull 25 year old.
The best snow shovel is a propane torch.
So a snow shovel that someone used in the Great Blizzard of 1887 ™ and still use today?
Then go to Home Depot and get you a scoop shovel vice a "snow shovel".
I prefer a metal grain shovel, mine is going on 30 years, only maintenace is I need to square it off with my grinder as it wears. Most of the better hardware or nurserys will carry. https://www.ames.com/products/shovels-and-scoops/
Lmao u actually ever use a torch?
Only on my ememies
But also, I’m willing to take way more time melting snow than risk a heart attack on a cold winter morning. Not that I have to clear snow at all.
Bully Tools. 100% they are built like a TANK
That reminds me of my grandfather’s shovel…and I bet it’s still in use somewhere.
I have the Snow Plow but it only pushes but it's very good. However I am also in need of an actual shovel that's almost bifl, at least last 10 yrs. Most of what I've seen are plastic and the breakable type. I want one where I can plow it deep in icy ish snow and use my feet.
See my post above on metal grain shovel. Live in Massachusetts, the grain shovel has never failed me, lite fluffy, wet heavy, frozen ice/slush
I second this. I live in Colorado and have used mine the last 7 years, still going strong.
I was looking at the reviews in Amazon, is it easily bent or rust quickly?
In my case 30 years, I've never been able to bend it. Still has the original handle. I'm sure there are cheep ones out there, I forget what I paid, but purchased on for my son when he first moved out and it was around $30 and that was 10 years ago. I've lost track of all the other shovels I owned, none lasted more than 10 years. The shovel is aluminum so it cannot rust. Go to a store and check one out.

Being from New England I can say there’s no perfect fit for one snow shovel. I have 4 different ones that I use for different reasons.
