I have “regular” legs and all mine fit just fine. I have noticed some of my Darn Tough socks fit tighter than my Smartwool ones in the area that’s where the ankle meets the foot, but it’s only in a certain style of Darn Tough and it’s really not that tight.

I've had no problems with Danish Endurance socks. They're not the warmest of the warm, but I live in North Carolina so they're nice for colder winter days. Edit to add: they're relatively inexpensive but they're a blend with only 30% wool. I'm not sure if they quite match what you're looking for.

We have no idea what you mean by wool socks. 100% wool? Dress? Casual? Athletic? Mens/Womens? This is BuyItForLife, not BestInClass.

Best ones I ever had were REI house brand. Easily the most durable. Everything else (people socks, darn tough, etc) I get a couple of years from them.

I have varying styles of darn tough, smart wool and REI (thicker style with the REI) for several years now. I still can’t tell which is best. I have one pair of darn tough, iirc, that fit kinda small comparatively to my others that are exactly the same size and style. I’d recommend all tbh. Otherwise Kirkland merino wool is worth checking out I’ve heard. Point6 is another I’ve heard of but haven’t tried, the owners originally created smartwool

Darn tough are good for hiking and long distance walking - IF you have regular or narrow feet. They don’t work well with wider than average feet. And I strongly encourage you only get regular cushion - not full cushion, which is much tighter.

For everyday/ casual use, short walks, etc, I prefer Smartwool, which makes a looser, warmer, more cushioned sock that is better for regular use.
