I buy nice white shirts for work- wear them under suits- but I work in a hot climate and the collars get pretty discolored after a couple of months. i don’t wind up keeping them anywhere near life, but I’d really REALLY like to find a way to actually get them white again. That would extend the life of these to at least a couple of years. Does anyone have anything that actually works on white shirt discoloration?

Use trisodium phosphate in your wash.

You pretreat with the most convenient method for you. For some they like stain sticks, for some sprays. Best practice is to remove the item and grab your pretreatment which is right next to your laundry basket...spray collar and stains, then drop in basket. OxiClean MaxForce spray is the current Consumer Reports leader and there's a bottle right above my laundry basket.

Don’t overthink it. Sodium Percarbonate (generic oxyclean) in hot water.

For pit stains I've used a mixture of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Mix it to the consistency of a thick paste and just slather it on for a half hour before wash. Then just toss the whole mess in. Try the mixture on an inconspicuous area first to make sure it will look right.
