I have a pair and can absolutely recommend them. I am about to retire them this summer after 11 years of backpacking and hiking. Still going to keep them for yard work boots though. Other brands you may consider would be Asolo and Scarpa.

Which are the comparable models to Lowa Renegade GTX in these brands that you like?

TPS 535 or Drifter.

Would recommend trying them on though - for boots, fit is by far the most important element.

I agree. Unfortunately what's available on the grounds for me here is very limited. I'm resorting to ordering different models in different sizes and lasts in bulk to try on at home and return the ones that don't fit.
