Dresser/Chest of Drawers than can be repeatedly assembled for apartment life?

I've been using "cheap" plastic drawers and have made them last for 10-15 years, but the quality of them now seems to have gone down while the price has gone up. It would also be nice to have something with wider and deeper drawers for clothing and linens. What types of furniture has BIFL found that would be lightweight and durable through multiple moves while still being budget friendly? Thanks for the suggestions!

Best advice is to look for estate sales and pick up a solid wood set cheep.

I'm looking for something lightweight, though. I'm disabled and am trying to find things I can move by myself; which is part of how I ended up using plastic drawers. Was hoping there were sturdier alternatives to the Sterilite brand ones. Thank you for your suggestion :)

Any dresser or chest sturdy enough to survive multiple moves is going to be bulky. Instead I suggest you look into shelves or racks with bins to organize your clothes. Google “clothes bin organizer” to see what I’m talking about.

The only thing I think of that should be good to take apart and travel multiple times would be called "campaign furniture", but I'd struggle to call it budget friendly

Try a wire rack with plastic containers or baskets. Get a variety of different colors/sizes/depths, space the shelves big at the bottom and small at the top. Easy breakdown and you can use the containers for moving.

its not cheap but you could check out "the dresser" by Thuma. it's modular, so you can take it apart easily and it's all real wood. I believe you can also add units to it as you go.

Wicker furniture is sturdier than something like those plastic drawers, or what Ikea offers, and it's fairly lightweight.

Do you have closet space? Those fabric hanging shelves (IKEA has them but Amazon will too) are good for t-shirts, underwear, socks etc.
