I've bought about 8 pairs from various places in the past 2 or 3 years and everything is novelty costume trash.

Where can I get a pair of pants suspenders with clasps that will last? Straps that are not too elastic?

I know they are not commonly used anymore, but does anybody have any experience?

Any Amish or Mennonites live near you? If so, shop where they do.

Anything with clasps does not last.

There are a lot of sellers on Etsy that sell leather suspenders for between 40 and 80 dollars.

There are many boutique sellers of various prices and material but I have no frame of reference in terms of quality. From a quick google search: Sellers like Col. Littleton

Bykowski

Grommet's leathercraft

Herd Wear claim to be based in Pennsylvania and that their bison leather suspenders are made by an Amish family but again I have no idea about quality or if any of it is true.

I concur with another commenter in looking for stores that cater to Amish or Mennonites or just stores that sell "western" or "rural" attire in general.

I like Perry suspenders.

They have hard, tough plastic hooks that are meant to hook into a belt. The never break or come apart. They don't set off airport metal detectors. It is quick and easy to switch them from one pair of pants to another. I have been using them for years.

Try arborist supply stores! Pfanner makes a decent pair. Chainsaw pants are heavy and need the extra help. Theis store is Canadian, but you might have more local options: https://www.arboristsupply.ca/product/classic-suspenders-pfanner/444?cp=true&sa=false&sbp=false&q=false&category_id=169 Something to note here is that these do not have clasps. Clasps suck. If you are wearing pants that do not come with buttons to attach suspenders onto, it is very easy just to sew some on.

You need to step up your game and buy the trousers with the buttons for suspenders, same place you buy them will sell you the real deal suspenders.

Skinhead clothing is very similar to the Mod style.

The skinhead subculture came from the original Mods.

Traditional Skinhead culture is alive and well and has nothing to do with the stereotypical neo nazi boneheads.

Spec-ops brand combat suspenders with belt loops at your sides/hip. Durable, mine are 5 years old of daily wear with more years of life in them. Comfortable, you can sit without a suspenders induced snuggy. No damage inducing metal anywhere to ruin your leather car seat. Just enough stretch but not too much in the elastic. Easy to attach and detach with hard synthetic (backpack type) clip fasteners at your sides.

And no, you don't look like G.I. Joe when you're wearing them. In fact, twice I've had guys ask me for details about them in restaurants because they look so comfortable and capable.

I wear these with a 3-ply duty belt that are made to order in your size by Klik-belt ("Cobra" fasteners) that hold up loosely fit comfortable pants well, with plenty of support for weighty attachments (edc) or heavy pocket contents (phone). Made of 3 layers of seat belt type material. No give in the vertical direction at all regardless (like a rigid hoop), very flexible in the horizontal (loosen/tighten) direction.

I've had Dickies, Carhartt, even Craftsman tool belt suspenders. The clasps universally suck.

Was at Duluth Trading Company and saw some that bragged how they hook under the belt. I'm a Boomer but will never, ever, ever simultaneously wear a belt and suspenders.

I think I'm getting some for Christmas that attach to belt loops and look forward to this.

BTW suspenders are a godsend. I'm thin and pants always slide down when I'm working. Along with bib overalls they're the most practical and comfortable things ever.

Suspenders are a terrible look. Buy a good quality belt and pants that fit you appropriately. Thus, no need for suspenders!

Suspenderstore.Com. I have bought both thick and thin. Y backs seem too work best for me. No clips.

Buttons only.

Go to a tailor and ask them to sew buttons on the inside of your jeans/trousers for traditional suspenders/bracers.

Clasps are ok, some suspenders can hook onto your belt loops but can cause damage, and there are kinds that hook onto your belt, but you shouldn’t wear a belt and suspenders.

Looks aren't the only thing that matters. Belts can sometimes be a problem from a health standpoint.

And as a woman, I happen to adore the suspender look on a man.

I bought suspenders for my husband for both health and appearance reasons.
