Reply to comment by spydrwebb44 in I know it's a cliché around here, but my Saddleback Leather satchel is over 10 years old and has a quarter million air miles on it, mostly shoved under a seat. It does not lead a sheltered life and it's in fantastic shape. by is_it_on
People with these bags tend to talk about them a lot. The fact that mine is ten years old and has seen use is maybe a little unique but otherwise I figure the bifl community spends a lot of time hearing about them.

I think the issue is the change in quality in the past 5 years prior to you buying yours. From what I've heard. I do not have one, but would love one. Also more pics pls

I've heard the same, although I'm kind of on the fence about the complaints. They shifted to using leather with visible scars and defects and that ticked a bunch of people off. They see it as paying the same price for a lower quality item. Including those marks doesn't affect the strength or durability of the leather, so to my mind it both adds uniqueness and results in less waste.
I'm just happy that I never have to buy a satchel again. This thing is part of my life story now and I can always count on it.
I'll get some more pics tomorrow. I'm glad people appreciate it!

They're making cows so cheap nowadays. Sad.
