Added the Sunbeam Coffeemaster to my kitchen today.

My girlfriend found it for $8 at a thriftstore and bought it for me because the engraved pattern matched my Sunbeam Toastmaster. I never knew it existed before she brought it home for me. Can't use them at the same time on the same circuit as they are really high wattage. Coffeemaster runs 1000w and the Toastmaster clocks in at 1600w. Might replace the original cord to a higher gauge like i did for the toaster.... but i am now done consuming appliances in these two realms.

Waiting for all the LPT in a couple years about not buying old appliances because their house burnt down due to structural integrity of the wire housing after 40-50 years and the obscene amount of power these things consume.

Oof… this is one of those times where I’ll take the new one. It automatically makes it when I wake up and it uses probably 10% of the power. They last a long time too.

I have a old toaster from like 40 years ago or so. The toaster puts the bread in by itself and when the bread comes out it does not pop out. It slowly-ish takes it out and it is a sunbeam and it's fully automatic.

I'm an electrician... it's called insulation... not housing. Something that works as intended for 70 years at 1600w saves much more power in the long run than buying an entirely new 1000w unit every 5-10 years. You will come to see how this is true when you get a bit older.

You got quite the find! My Sunbeam Coffeemaster is my daily driver, as I prefer the coffee it makes to my French Press, my (open flame) siphon, or my Bunn.

If it didn't have at least one with it already, you can find the cloth filters readily easy online. But be prepared to pay a wee bit more for them than you did for the coffee maker!

No doubt. I have a 1956 GE Liberator stove that I use daily. Nothing wrong with it other than the clock doesn't work. May not be the most efficient but hot dog, that thing works all the time and every time. Oven is dialed in precisely and even the Sensi-temp burner still works (yes, they had these back in the 50's). 👍😎👍

My unused 30C had its gasket stuck. I was able to separate the two pots but the gasket stayed on the lower pot. It looks like the gasket is not pliable. Do you know a source other than dayseal?

Unfortunately, they (dayseal) seems to be the only ones with replacement gaskets and seals for our vintage Sumbeams.

I would strongly recommend getting both when you replace the gasket, as the seal inside (accessible by twisting the 'cone' underneath the top half off) will most likely not be very reliable, if not failed already. Just be sure to tighten everything up VERY WELL or you will have a (literal) hot mess! TRUST ME, I KNOW. If you break down and get the gasket, a few dollars more for the secondary seal isn't really so bad- just consider it 'insurance' for proper operation.
