You can sharpen nail clippers. There are different tutorials online on the various ways you can do it. My grandpa used to sharpen his just by clipping them over aluminum foil

if you have particularly thick or tough nails, consider using larger 'toenail' clippers which have sturdier cutting edges.

tweezerman have been good to us. Revlon are good too.

cheaper nail cutters often have over- or under-bite and don't cut well unless their edges are re-aligned.

I saw an easy method online for sharpening nail clippers so I tried it and it seemed to have worked. Use a medium grit piece of sandpaper and have the clippers bite down on it 5 times in a row, in different spots. Be sure to clip all the way through the sandpaper. if you can.

Green Bell, sold in the US as Seki Edge.

If you have very thick nails for some reason, you may need to get the ones that look like pliers instead.

Avoid the Revlon "2-in-1 Men's " nail clippers - the larger clipper is totally useless and can't through a piece of twine.

I left my decent tweezerman clippers at my cabin and it's a 5-6 hour roundtrip from the city, and the Revlon POS was all the Duane Reade had at the time.

I cannot emphasize this enough - Revlon nail products (at least for men) are total garbage.

I still rent the same teeth my parents got me from the dentist at my first dental visit. They don't wear out and they have many uses, including making it easier to masticate.

My Muji nail-cutters seem invincible and are still sharp and really satisfying to use after at least five or six years. I love them and actually wanted to make a post about them!
