I own the cordless peanut, and it's good, but it's more of a detailer than anything. I'll use it to trim my mustache, between my nose and mustache, or between my sideburns and my ears.
I use the Oster Professional Octane Cordless Clipper to trim the bulk of the beard. The battery lasts forever - like months - and it's very powerful and solidly constructed.
I would recommend getting the ceramic blades though as the standard metal ones can run pretty hot.
There is a plastic clip that holds the blade cover that broke within the first year. I taped it in place and haven't replaced the tape since.
I get rid of trimmings with the brush after every use. I oil when I think to (maybe seasonally?). I probably trim my facial hair 20-30 times a year and use it without the guard for my neckline slightly more often than that.
I hadn't even thought about this as BIFL because it's simple and banal but I've used it without issue for over a decade. My favorite kind of BIFL. ... Unintentional.
