My husband's birthday is coming up, and he asked for a new pc mouse... again. He's gone through several over the last years, and the problem is the same every time: within months, the mouse will start double-clicking on a single click. My husband thinks this is because dirt gets under the button, I'm not sure, I've never had this problem myself. He currently has a Razor Naga, which started double-clicking after just a month which was really disappointing.
He uses it daily, for both work and gaming. It needs to have extra programmable buttons, the more the better.
Any recommendations are very welcome!
Also, if you think you know what's causing this issue and how to solve it, please let me know!

The double clicking issue occures in modern mice because the traditional fully mechanical micro switches they use (Omron D2F(C) and copies of that) are operated with vastly lower voltages and amperages than recommended by Omron and other manufacturers.
The solution to that is a mouse with optical switches (or mechanical-optical switches).
Asus has some mice that offer the advantage that the mouse is easily openable and the switches can be swapped out without any soldering, the optical switches on those have 5 pins, whereas the normal ones have 3 pins.
